How to Progress Initiation 2

• Head to Caldera Street Station

After starting Casey, progress through the dark world toward Caldera Street Station. There are multiple items scattered throughout the dark world, so it's good to collect them as you head to the station.

• Obtain the dark world map

At the sign at Casey's starting point, you can obtain a map of the dark world. Be sure to obtain it before proceeding with Casey.

• Obtain flashlight and other items in the back of the street

When you reach the deepest part of the street, an event with Alex Casey will occur. After the event, obtain the "Flashlight" at Casey's feet. You can obtain Casey's gun at the same time as obtaining the light. After obtaining them, move under the light and collect light into the lamp.

• Return to the station while using the flashlight and gun

Use the flashlight and gun you obtained to dispel the darkness and return to the station. Since there are shadows in the darkness that cannot be dispelled with light alone, it's good to use the gun. Also, dodge incoming shadow attacks using the L1 button while dispelling them.

• Break darkness nodes with light to open a path

The stairs from the street back to Caldera Street are blocked by darkness. Break 2 darkness nodes with the flashlight to open the path.

• Use the lamp to enter the elevated station

By using the lamp's light, you can make not only Caldera Street Station appear, but also the elevated station entrance. Before entering Caldera Street Station, explore the elevated station where you can obtain break rooms, Echoes, words of power, and more.

• Talk to Tim Breaker to update the map

Enter the building on the right side of the map from the elevated station and continue. When you hear humming, open the door where the sound is coming from to meet "Tim Breaker" and update the dark world map, which reveals the locations of hidden supplies.

• Use the lamp to make the station entrance appear

Deactivate the Light Shift at the elevated station and use the lamp at Caldera Street Station to make the station entrance appear. When you enter Caldera Street Station, Alan will say "Another light is needed," so it's good to make the station entrance appear and exit for now.

• Collect light into the lamp in front of the taxi

Move to the taxi at Caldera Street and collect the taxi's light into the lamp. When you collect the light, the taxi changes to a police car and darkness shadows appear, so it's good to return to Caldera Street Station while fighting back with the flashlight and gun.

• Enter the platform using the subway card

Collect light into the lamp and enter Caldera Street Station, then light up the station interior. When you light it up, the platform door appears, and you can enter it using the subway card.

• Align the Echoes on the platform

After entering the platform, stand at a specific angle and align the Echoes. When you finish listening to the Echo, you discover the first "Plot Element." The Plot Elements you find can be confirmed and used to rewrite reality in the writing room.

• Rewrite the reality of the station scene

Select the Plot Element "Missing FBI Agent" and rewrite the reality of Caldera Street Station. After the rewrite, the appearance of the station changes and you can proceed deeper.

• Follow the bloodstains deeper

In the rewritten Caldera Street Station, the evidence of the FBI agent is found near the bloodstains. Confirm it and follow the bloodstains deeper into the subway tunnel and lower levels.

• Obtain the subway map near the break room

As you progress through the subway tunnel, you will find a break room where you can store items in a shoebox and save. There is also a subway map near the break room, so be sure to obtain it.

• Rewrite reality in the collapsed tunnel

When you enter the collapsed tunnel, a scene of the missing FBI agent is added. Go to the writing board in the writing room and rewrite reality. When you rewrite reality, Echoes appear. Stand at a specific angle, align the Echoes, and listen to the entire conversation.

• Obtain the Plot Element in the main tunnel

When you deactivate the Light Shift in the main tunnel, Echoes appear. When you finish listening to the Echo, you can obtain a new Plot Element "Murder Cult."

• Return to the collapsed tunnel and rewrite reality

Return to the collapsed tunnel and rewrite reality to the Plot Element "Murder Cult" obtained from the main tunnel. When it changes to Murder Cult, an altar appears in the collapsed tunnel.

• Use Light Shift to remove water from the passage

Leave the collapsed tunnel and enter the narrow passage submerged in water, then activate the Light Shift. When activated, the water disappears and you can proceed further.

• Talk to Tim Breaker to update the map

As you proceed through the passage and climb nearby stairs, you'll hear humming. Open the door and Tim Breaker will appear again. Checking the map allows you to update the subway map, which reveals the locations of hidden supplies and more.

• Climb the ladder in the break room and enter the derailed train

When you climb the ladder in the break room, you arrive at the "Derailed Train." Upon arrival, you obtain a new scene "Derailed Train," so rewrite the scene on the writing board.

• Listen to Echoes and obtain the "Torchbearer"

In the room heading from the derailed train toward the abandoned station, attacking shadows appear. Defeat the shadows and listen to the Echoes. When you finish listening to the Echoes, you can obtain a new Plot Element "Torchbearer."

• Rewrite reality on the derailed train

On the writing board, change the scene Derailed Train to the Plot Element "Torchbearer" obtained from the Echo to rewrite reality. When it changes to Torchbearer, the subway car becomes charred and passable.

• Descend the ladder and head toward the abandoned station

After passing through the charred car, descend the ladder in the middle and head toward the abandoned station. When you descend the stairs, you can reach Shrine St. Station's break room, so it's good to save and organize your items.

• Progress through the blocked path while changing Light Shift

The path is blocked beyond the stairs at the abandoned station, and you can change 3 Light Shifts. Progress deeper through the blocked path by turning the 3 Light Shifts on and off.

• Head to the terminus of Shrine St. Station

Progress through Shrine St. Station while defeating shadows, and deactivate the Light Shift on the central train. When deactivated, you can proceed further, and you arrive at a new scene "Terminus."

• Rewrite reality at the terminus

After arriving at the terminus, go to the writing board and select the Plot Element "Murder Cult" to rewrite reality. The terminus becomes a Murder Cult hideout, and listening to Echoes allows you to obtain a new Plot Element "Summoning Ritual."

• Head to the collapsed tunnel

After rewriting reality at the terminus to the Plot Element "Summoning Ritual" on the writing board, head to the collapsed tunnel. Along the way, multiple shadows will attack, so it's good to avoid stopping when possible and rest at break rooms along the way back.

• Escape from the darkness entity in the collapsed tunnel

After arriving at the collapsed tunnel, rewrite reality to the Plot Element "Summoning Ritual." If you touch the darkness entity, it will be Game Over, so open the train door nearby and escape to the break room. When you escape to the break room, the darkness entity disappears.

• Proceed straight from the break room toward the tunnel

Even if you shake off the darkness entity at the break room, you may get trapped in a loop by the darkness entity again if you get close to the tunnel. Proceed straight until you reach the passage where you can crouch.

• Progress through the tunnel and investigate the murder scene

Progress through the tunnel and arrive at the murder scene. Investigate the murder scene. When you investigate the murder scene, an event with Saga occurs.

• Proceed through the narrow passage and exit the subway station

After the event with Saga, proceed through the narrow passage extending from the murder scene to return to Caldera Street Station. Exit the subway station and head toward Parliament Tower in front of the station. Enter Parliament Tower and board the elevator to complete Initiation 2.

Television

The television "Write" can be obtained on Ocean Avenue in the dark world, and "Murder Scene" is obtainable in the break room near the "Derailed Train" in the subway. The televisions you obtain can be viewed anytime in the writing room.
