East Raccoon City (Leon) Walkthrough
[1] Head to Raccoon City Center.
There is a file on the right side of the road right when the mission starts.
[2] Find a Way Out.
Head towards the Applegate Hotel and loot the area.
Break the Mr. Raccoon Memoriam on the counter behind the bar.
Proceed by forcing the revolving door open. Interact with it and give it a little push.
It's time to fight the Giant Spider.
[3] Defeat the Giant Spider.
The fight happens in a maze-like dilapidated building covered in the Giant Spider's web. Navigate through the webs with Leon's hatchet and keep some distance. There are plenty of loot around the area so try to explore while staying away from the spider.
Its weak point is on its back so only spend ammo when there's a clear shot from behind.
Keep in mind that some of corridors can be a little tight so if the Giant Spider is coming from Leon's front, it's better to quickly turn around and run the other way.
There are spiderlings in some of the rooms in the destroyed building. It's easy to kill them with the hatchet, which also saves ammo, but the pistol works just as well.
The Giant Spider can also be lured to scattered gas tanks. But be careful, Leon must be out of the explosion's range when the tank is shot to avoid taking damage.
When it's stunned by heavy damage, it raises its tail a little, making it easier to hit with Leon's guns.
After dealing enough damage, Leon defeats the Giant Spider and makes his way through Ridgewood Station.
[4] Continue to the Raccoon City Center.
The path here is pretty straightforward. Just interact with the rusty revolving doors to proceed through the station.
When Leon reaches the end of the station, just pry the door open with his hatchet.
Leon and Sherry realize they need to find a detonator so they can blow up the gate and head for the city center.
Leon reaches a BSAA Camp but the power is out. He resets the generator and gains access to the computer and the supply box.
The file, Orders for the Engineer Corps, is also on the desk inside the tent. It contains information about the detonator parts Leon needs for the gate.
Leon starts by opening the gate just near the Central Camp. This leads to the Logistics Warehouse.
There are plenty of loot in the area so explore every room and open every locker, specially if Leon needs supplies. When he has everything he needs, climb the broken ladder to proceed.
There are some crates to loot here but there are enemies as well so be ready. Leon can kick them off the edge when they're stunned to save some ammo.
Leon's path is blocked but shoot the metal ring to make a walkable path forward.
There is an enemy just behind the door but the rooms inside are clear. Grab the Cedarbrook Apartment Key in the open metal cabinet.
Proceed and climb further until Leon finds an old generator.
Climb further onto the rooftop for some loot and the first detonator part, the Distributor.
Use the binoculars to locate your next targets then leave the area. Now on the other side of the map, Leon finds another old generator that needs fuel. Use the nearby lever to unlock a new path back to the Central Camp.
Go back to the Central Camp to save and resupply. It's better to always spend on the supply box when possible.
Head back to the new area and shoot the ladder to gain access to the gas station.
Leon finds fuel here but he needs a container first. Climb up the stairs to proceed.
Drop down the hole on the roof to enter the gas station.
Explore the station until Leon finds a hole in the wall, leading to another generator with the fuel container right next to it.
When Leon heads back to fill up the container, an infected with a chainsaw bursts out of the crates.
This also spawns more enemies outside the building. Just as Leon exits through the door, an infected hurls a gas tank at him. Shoot it before it reaches Leon or run to safety.
After Leon clears most of them, a tougher infected with a chainsaw bursts out from the burning rubble.
After eliminating the enemies, head to the fuel tank and fill up the container.
Head back to the Central Camp to save and resupply before continuing.
Leon uses the Cedarbrook Apartment Key to open the gate just beside the Central Camp.
Shoot the hanging crate down for some loot.
Better not forget the ladder.
The door on up the stairs is locked so proceed down the dark path instead.
Eliminate the infected stealthily and explore further until Leon reaches a metal gate, it needs batteries to work.
There is also a file right next to the battery slots. It tells Leon to retrieve the batteries from the sewage facility and the underground parking garage.
Start with the underground parking garage by climbing the ladder right next to the gate.
Drop down to the other side and explore the area. There are plenty of items here with a number of enemies as well.
At the opposite corner of the massive parking garage, there's a room guarded by some infected. Eliminate them and head inside.
Inside are more loot and a battery.
Climb the ladder and head back to the gate to insert the first battery.
The battery in the sewage facility requires a crank so Leon has to retrieve one first.
There are more loot and a Mr. Raccoon Memoriam in the other rooms in the underground parking garage so explore them before proceeding.
Enter the south door into the sewage facility and jump down to the broken bridge.
Jump down further and retrieve the detached wheel. This spawns enemies so be ready to eliminate them.
Attach the wheel and start turning but stop midway to be ready for more enemies, including a Blister Borne. It's similar to the one Leon fought previously in the chapel.
Just shoot its weak points while navigating around the other infected.
Gas tanks and hand grenades are pretty good for crowd control.
Return to the wheel and finish what you started. There are some loot hidden behind the wall as well.
Head up the stairs and follow the path until Leon reaches a metal door.
Grab the battery and unlock the metal door.
Climb the ladder at the end of this path to find a way back to the metal gate.
Insert the second battery and exit the facility through the open gate. Follow the path until a cutscene plays.
When Leon's done resupplying, head to the other entrance of Cedarbrook Apartments.
Head up the stairs and out the balcony. Leon needs a crank to open the door here so just come back to it later.
Walk past the door and head inside the building. Take care of the armored enemy then drop down to the lower floor.
Beware of enemies dropping from the upper floors. Eliminate them and turn the crank to open the door, Leon also grabs the crank after.
Head back up the stairs and use the crank to open the door on the balcony. Climb the ladder but before heading up the stairs, turn right and enter the building.
At the end of the other hallway is a Mr. Raccoon Memoriam.
Head back out to the balcony and up the stairs. An enemy is waiting here but there are also incoming explosives from the sky so be ready.
Keep moving unless Leon is under cover, there are more enemies here too so make sure Leon doesn't get grabbed or he won't be able to dodge the explosives.
Leon can use the rifle to shoot enemies on higher ground. They're the ones responsible for the bombs. There's only a short window to take the shot before getting hit by the bomb so make every bullet count.
Keep going, past a door and even more enemies, until Leon finds a broken yellow ladder.
Climb the ladder and grab the Broken Signal Receiver from the crate. There's also a file right next to it.
Head back down and deal with the enemies before going back to the Central Camp.
When Leon's done resupplying, head back to the rooftop using the elevator and use the fuel to open the electric gate.
Use the zipline to get to the other building.
Climb further and continue exploring until Leon encounters a barricaded door on a broken wall. Destroy it with the hatchet to make a path.
Follow the path and climb further. When Leon's path is inaccessible, shoot the barricade from the ceiling then jump down.
Shoot the door and jump past the debris.
Continue forward and force the elevator open.
Follow the path and head to the light, dodging the broken elevators as they drop.
When Leon reaches the area with glass floors, quickly eliminate the enemies by shooting the glass under them.
Shoot the glass under one of the wooden closets to make an accessible path that leads further up.
Eliminate the infected and continue forward until Leon reaches a metal gate.
Grab the Relay and combine it with the other parts you already have to complete the Detonator.
Continue forward and shoot the ladder to climb further up.
To get back to the Central Camp, Leon needs to ride the contraption down to the surface.
Drop down and follow the path to the right until Leon reaches some stairs.
Continue right and further up, taking care of enemies on the way.
Continue climbing the building but watch out for the infected ready to hurl a gas tank at Leon.
Continue climbing until you find a slope leading to the platform, slide down to it.
Turn the wheel to drop one side of the platform.
Follow the path to the right. The path to the left also unlocks a shortcut that leads to save point if Leon needs it.
Follow the path until there are more stairs to climb. There are plenty of infected here so be ready.
Keep going until you reach a door. The next control wheel is just inside.
Drop down and activate the platform.
The platform stops every now and then, with enemies spawning near Leon so be ready to fight. The shotgun is very useful against the infected dropping right next to him.
After surviving the platform, follow the path until Leon finds the sewer exit. Just beware of enemies on the way.
Leon returns to camp and resupplies. He opens one of the BSAA containers and finds a motorcycle. He detonates the gate and heads for the city center, but is intercepted by Victor Gideon on the way.
Overcoming Victor is pretty straightforward, just shoot at him and his wild dogs whenever possible.
When Leon's path is blocked, just shoot the gas tanks to make an opening.
After a long chase, Victor falls and Leon heads for the city center.
