Gaul's Unexpected Side (Gaul Ch. 1) Full Walkthrough and Details | Monster Hunter Stories 3 ( MHS3 )

It seems that Gaul takes it upon himself to take care of a medicinal herb patch outside of his ranger duties. Being ever so curious, the player asks if they can help.

[1] After listening to Gaul and Murray during the Tracks Main Quest, talk to Gaul at camp.

While the player and Gaul are talking shop, Murray reports that it's time to 'water the plants'. Gaul reveals that they have been patrolling a medicinal herb patch. The conversation shows how passionate Gaul is about plants.

The player is intrigued by what Gaul does for his non-ranger duties and asks if they can tag along.

[2] Help Gaul water the plants.

Follow the stream to reach the herb patch where the player will find the man, Lievin. Talk to them and they will say that a Purple Ludroth has been tearing up the herb patch.

[3] Find and fight off the Purple Ludroth.

Go to the south area of the large lake and talk to Georgie. He says that the monster took his companion Nazner to the middle of the lake.

Use a Monstie that can swim to head up to the island west of Azuria Castle or fast travel to the Mirror Lake if the Catavan Stand has been discovered there Nazner is found! Injured, but alive.

Soon, a roar is heard and the Purple Ludroth finally shows itself! Time for battle!

After defeating the monster, Nazner reveals that rare monsters have been popping up lately and Gaul have taken care of all of them. The player doesn't understand why Gaul hid this from them and Gaul says it's simply not Ranger business and that one wrong move to lead to a diplomatic incident. The player decides to trust Gaul on this and hopes his Felyne companion can take care of him (wait...it's not just Murray?!).
