Main Quest Walkthrough

[1] Search for enhancement materials in the cave

You, Iori, and Wyzeman warp to Teardrop cave. Wyzeman suggests they should split up to better find the materials, so he splits off from you and Iori.

First step, head north to Teardrop Cave: Upper Chamber. Looking at the map, you will notice that that there is no waypoint to guide you to the next location.

The aim for this mission is to explore and find the next Safe Area which will be marked with a waypoint. The way to the Safe Area is in one of the four sub-chambers in Teardrop Cave: Upper Chamber.

But be careful! Teardrop Cave is full of spiders. If you look up, there will be some just waiting to jump on any unsuspecting player.

Battle Tip
Attack the waiting spiders first with a range attack to get the drop on them!

No need to rush, though. Explore the Upper Chamber first for some good loot.

Once done exploring, go to the upper right chamber, the exit to the Safe Area is there.

The waypoing will appear now, directing you towards the Safe Area.

Rest up there to continue.

After resting up, you and Iori will see Wyzeman finally catching up.

01.15 wyzeman.jpg

Iori notes that the dungeon seems off— the enemies and the difficulty are not what they were during beta. Wyzeman thinks it was just changes they made during launch. He decides to take front and continue looking for materials.

Once you are ready, head north to move forward. At the end of the path, the area is blocked off. And by video game logic, that means there's a tough fight ahead. Be prepared to face it and access it.

[2] Defeat the Glenspore Grizzly

Up ahead are not one, not two, but three Glenspore Grizzly— and we just disturbed their nap. One of them is bigger than the other two by a wide margin. You've got to defeat them to go on!

02.01.jpg

Battle Tip
・The big Glenspore Grizzly attacks with fire. It can breathe fire and inflict Burning on you. It does not last long, but be sure to make use of Iori's healing skills to save yourself.
・The two smaller Glenspore Grizzlys can inflict Paralyzed with their attacks. Do not be near the bigger Grizzly when this happens. If it attacks you with a fire breath or its other moves when you are paralyzed, it could mean trouble!

[3] Search for enhancement materials in the cave

After dealing with the bears, head north to continue.

03.01.jpg

The waypoint will lead to another Safe Area. Rest up there to continue.

03.02 safe area.jpg

After that, continue north onwards to Teardrop Cave: Lower Chamber.

03.03 lower chamber.jpg

Much like the Upper Chamber, the Lower Chamber is big, and there is no waypoint to guide you where to go.

Also, now the cave is infested with Wasps and Shrewmen as well.

Once again, explore to your heart's content to get some loot.

Now that the whole chamber has been explored, head to the upper left to exit to the Safe Area.

Exit the Lower Chambers and head to the Safe Area. Rest up there to continue.

After resting up, head north to enter Teardrop Cave: Bottom Chamber.

The chamber up ahead is blocked, like the one with the Grizzly. Make sure you are prepared before accessing it.

03.14 access.jpg

You will see a group of Shrewmen, er, dancing with their Shrewman Queen, who then kills two of them. The whole group notices you and stops dancing.

[4] Defeat the Shrewman Queen

With enough levels and stats, the Shrewman Queen is not too difficult, but nothing to scoff at. She will also have a second phase when her HP goes down the first time. Defeat her and her followers to conitnue!

04.01.jpg

Battle Tip
・The Shrewman Queen can create shockwaves with her voice, but you can dodge through them!
・She can summon more Shrewman to assist her in battle! If your level is high enough, they can go down in one hit so take care of them quickly.

Approaching the waypoint, you will encounter Wyzeman again who took a different route from you.

He says he found a trove of materials. Go collect them, along with the Tempered Steel needed.

NOTE
Picking up the Tempered Steel will end the quest. Pick that up last before picking up the other materials around.

As the team examines their loot, Iori notices she got something called the Antique Brooch, which automatically equips itself onto her.

For some reason, another brooch is equipped onto you as well, but not Wyzeman.

05.06 nothing.jpg

Wyzeman tries to figure out what happened and what it can do, but no one has any solid theories. Iori decides to head back to town to upgrade the Annealed Blades, much to Wyzeman's dismay.
