Boss Strategies

Bruno

Bruno Keller is Marlowe's right-hand man and the person who prepares rituals for the Scarlet Church.

Player hiding behind objects

You'll need to sneak past him during the "Escape from the Scarlet Church Part 1" Quest.

Strategy in Sneaking Past Bruno
1Wait for Bruno to turn his back, then quickly crawl to the table and take the Keycard hanging on it.
2Escape the room through the open door on your left.
3Then, use the Keycard to enter the hallway.

In your next encounter with this boss, Bruno mostly uses straightforward arm strikes, but he can also slip into a pool of blood and chase you.

Defeating Bruno

Strategy in Defeating Bruno
1Time his single strikes. They are easy to read and easy to dodge.
2Hit his head repeatedly with a blunt weapon to stagger him.
3Use the Genesis Configuration to throw metal objects at him.

The Chatterer

encounter with The Chatterer

The Chatterer is an eyeless Cenobite who hunts you through the eerie hallways of the Labyrinth. This is a chase, not a fight, so you survive by running, avoiding traps, and picking the right path at every fork. He chases you three times, and this strategy covers the first chase.

The Chatterer Strategy
1Save before you check the metal door in the Scarlet Church.
2Take the right path at the first junction and the left path at the second.
3Slide or crouch-walk under the chains, and spam the F key if a hook catches you.
4Quick Turn when he appears at the junctions.
5Keep moving forward until you reach the metal door.

Charlotte

Defeating Charlotte

Charlotte is a devout follower of the Scarlet Church turned monster. Her attacks are limited and simple. She walks toward you constantly, and an occasional grab is the only surprise.

Charlotte Strategy
1Burn her with fire from torches and barrels, and lay fuel canisters to spread the flames.
2Lay bear traps around the arena and lure her into them, then punish her while she is stuck.
3Use the large arena to keep your distance. Police cars can blockade her for a moment.
4Don't panic if you die once. You wake up in a cage and fight off enemies until the floor opens, then the fight continues.

Sister of Mercy

Sister of Mercy Trap

Sister of Mercy has multiple arms from rituals that changed her body, and she believes she is worthy of godhood.

Sister of Mercy Strategy
1Hide behind pillars to block her shards, but don't stay too long because her charge can destroy them.
2Aim for the gap in her Shard Wall, reposition behind her, or wait it out behind a pillar.
3After the Blinding Scream, watch for her silhouette and fire when it appears. Stand in a corner to limit her angles.

Marlowe

Marlowe Kneeling

Colin Marlowe is the leader of the Scarlet Church, and he wants to use the Genesis Configuration to become a Cenobite. His attacks are simple, but his large frame makes them tricky to time.

Marlowe Strategy
1Shoot the bodies with an orange glow on their backs until they separate from him. Each one staggers him.
2Press the attack button when the prompt appears to escape his grab after a knockdown.
3Reposition when his hands are up, or bait an attack and dodge.
4In the second phase, use the Genesis Configuration on the spiked rock walls and pillars, and shoot the chains to drop the spiked cubes on him.

All Enemy Types and Weaknesses

Aside from the main bosses, Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival includes various enemy types such as Cultists, Unworthies, and tougher minibosses, each having specific weak points worth knowing.

EnemyStrengthKey Weakness
CultistFrail, so a headshot or a couple of body shots takes one down.
Armored CultistBreak the armor to expose the flesh underneath.
UnworthyTake one to its final hit, then Banish it to recover health.
Flesh BlobShoot the blue bulbs to make it explode, which also hurts nearby enemies.
Possessed CultistQuick, durable, and always in a group, so back up against a wall or funnel them into a hallway.
Armored MinibossIts arms are the weak point, and hitting its face or body does nothing.

Tips for Surviving Boss Encounters

  • Save before every boss encounter, since you can't easily go back.
  • Stock up on healing items like Bandages and ammo for your weapons first.
  • Look for fire sources, traps, and throwable objects in each boss arena. The Genesis Configuration works best when you use the environment to your advantage.
