What are Arcanas and Tarot Cards?

Holy Cross Arcana

Arcanas are special abilities you can equip. These are unlocked when you find the Tarot Card and fulfill its conditions. This usually involves defeating a boss.

Arcanas have additional skills called "Blessings" when you fulfill conditions called the "Works of Mercy." So, make sure to check those too.

Arcana: Cursed Flame	Throws a cursed fireball that deals damage on contact.

The Fallen

Arcana: Holy Cross	Throws a corrupted cross that deals damage to enemies it hits. Returns to Rose after traveling a certain distance or hitting a wall.

The Warrior

The Warrior

Arcana: Infernal Pyre	Unleashes flames along the ground around Rose, igniting and launching enemies into the air. Burning enemies are dealt heavy damage over a short period.

The Prophetess

The Prophetess

Arcana: Petrifying Gaze	Petrify enemies in front of Rose. Petrified enemies cannot act. Two hit-or a shattering fall-break the effect and deals extra damage.

Arcana: Fist of Talos	A huge fist strikes the ground, dealing massive damage to enemies directly below, with much less damage to targets further away. Also triggers a small earthquake that shakes enemies in a wide radius, potentially knocking them off their platforms.

The Occulist

The Occulist

Arcana: Blood Spikes	Summons blood spikes to impale nearby enemies, dealing low damage and causing them to bleed. Always targets the furthest enemy on the platform. Bleeding enemies are dealt moderate damage over a long period.

The Artist

Arcana: Masterpiece	Summons a gargoyle from a large slab of rock. The gargoyle floats near Rose and shoots fireballs at nearby enemies. Recasting this spell while the gargoyle is still alive, makes it slam vertically upon a nearby enemy and explode, dealing extra damage.

The Shadow

Arcana: Soul Harvest	Unleashes a slow but devastating scythe attack. Any enemy killed this way creates 4 sickles that are thrown around.

The Zealot

Arcana: Chronomantic Dive	Rose jumps in the air, then falls down to the ground, dealing damage on the way and creating a cross of green fire, damaging enemies on its path while also slowing down time for a brief moment.

The Miser

The Miser

Arcana: Wheel of Chaos	Launches a wheel bearing the Eye of Mammon, targeting the nearest enemy (in any direction). The projectile then hovers in place for a few seconds, during which time the spell can be recast for a reduced mana cost. In this case, the wheel spins out and attacks the nearest enemy again.

The Brittle King

The Brittle King

Arcana: Stained-Glass Shield	Rose is surrounded by a magical shield that absorbs attacks. When an attack is blocked this way, Rose takes no damage, interruptions, or special effects associated with that attack, and shards of glass fly towards nearby enemies.
