How to Beat Carmilla

Carmilla Summary

Carmilla can be found at the Observatory Room, at the top of the Library. A loyal ally of Dracula, she is draped in flowing blood and manipulates it at will. Watch out for her strikes, as taking enough hits leads to a swift and bloody loss. Vanquish her to claim the Blood Spikes Arcana!

Weakness	Her Skull Shields. Break them, and she's wide open.
Best Weapon	Dual Swords, like the Rapiers
Most Dangerous Attack	Lifestealer, an instant kill that triggers when the pentagram counter hits 0.

Carmilla Attack Patterns

Attack	Description
Skull Shields	Carmilla summons two giant skulls, one on each side of her, that block all incoming attacks.
Scarlet Wave	She sends a wave of blood across the arena in a single direction.
Crimson Surge	Blood bursts out of the ground and impales Rose.
Screech	One of the Skull Shields lets out a bone-chilling screech that knocks Rose back.
Lifestealer	Carmilla's signature move. When the pentagram counter hits 0, she grabs Rose and bites her neck, killing her instantly.

Attack	Description
Blood-soaked Symphony	Carmilla unleashes a chain of Scarlet Wave and Crimson Surge attacks that tear through the arena. She collapses afterward.
Lifestealer	The pentagram counter stays active the whole fight. Keep avoiding hits.

[1] Avoid getting hit to prevent her fatal attack.

At the beginning of the fight, Carmilla casts a pentagram-shaped curse on Rose. When the counter reaches 0, Carmilla performs a deadly attack that kills Rose instantly.

The number inside the pentagram ticks down each time Rose takes a hit. Study the attack patterns above, and you can avoid it.

[2] Destroy her Skull Shields to make her vulnerable.

Carmilla periodically summons two large skulls that shield her from attacks. Destroy them first, or you can't deal real damage to her. A well-timed Fist of Talos can hit both skulls at once and speed things up.

Once her health drops low, Carmilla unleashes Blood-soaked Symphony and ravages the arena. Stay near the center to read the direction of the Scarlet Waves. When she finishes, she collapses and stays vulnerable for a good while.

Dual Swords like the Rapiers are the fastest way to deplete Carmilla's health. Time your first two attacks well to chain into the final combo, which deals massive damage.
