Beyond His Gaze Summary

Ichil wants to know why his father Uzan, a strong and fearless leader of the captain guard, died. Elliot decides to help him by investigating as to what happened to Uzan.

This quest is unlocked after defeating Kaifried and talking to Fausta.

Beyond His Gaze Walkthrough

[1] Talk to Ichil.

Ichil can be located South East of the Kingdom of Huther. When you talk to him, he asks you why his father, a strong captain of the guard, died despite being strong.

Elliot asks him what's his name, Ichil tells him that his father's name was Uzan and he was popular in the castle.

[2] Ask the Castle Soldiers about Uzan.

You can talk to the soldier guarding the entrance to the throne room about Uzan.

He tells you that Uzan was protecting Minister Kaifried while on an expedition to the Northern Caves. Unfortunately, Uzan died while defending their group from an Ulfr.

[3] Head to the Northern Caves.

After talking to the soldier, fast travel to Southern Whiterea as marked on your map. Make your way to the entrance of the caves.

[4] Find Uzan's Remains.

Once inside, head to the cave with a wide opening on the left. You'll know when there's an entrance with two lit torches and a group of enemies inside. Uzan's remains are found near a vase.

Two letters could be found alongside his remains: one is addressed to whoever finds it and one for Ichil. The first letter reads that he died protecting his compatriots but regrets leaving behind his son Ichil. He hopes that whoever finds the letter will give the other to his son.

[5] Deliver Uzan's letter to Ichil.

Head back to Ichil and deliver the letter to him. When Ichil reads the letter, he is stunned to learn that Uzan is not actually his father. Even if Uzan wasn't his father, he loved Ichil as if he were his own.

His real father worked to see the kingdom flourish and was the reason why they explored the Northern Caves. His father loved Ichil just as much as Uzan did. Uzan hopes that Ichil will live life to the fullest knowing the bravery of his two fathers.

Beyond His Gaze Rewards

Once you're done with the quest, you'll be rewarded with the Vengeful Bangle which generates spikes that cause damage when you guard successfully.
