Hildebrandt's Research Summary
Hildebrandt shows off to Elliot their machine that is able to take the magic essence out of a being with magic, saying that this enables them to no longer have to find several Magical Springs as sources of magic.
He asks Elliot if he could get rid of a berserk Beastman that has been wandering about one of the said springs his institute has been gathering from, and while Elliot doesn't like the man very much, he accepts the job.
How to Unlock Hildebrandt's Research
This is available after talking to Fausta and Ikarus when looking for information of Heuria becoming encased in ice.

Hildebrandt's Research Walkthrough
[1] Talk to Hildebrant.
This is available after talking to Mao and Carter about the sealed Ice Dragon.
Go to the Forthewor Institute 2nd floor and talk to Hildebrandt. He will talk about the machine his institute has created. It can apparently take the magic out of a magical being and this machine will be revolutionary in obtaining magical sources.
Speaking of magical sources, what other people usually do is collect from Magic Springs. He says that a berserk Beastman has been seen around one of the springs that they usually collect from. He asks Elliot to get rid of the Beastman.
[2] Find and defeat the Beastman.
Go to the camp below the Northern Whiterea Guidepost. There will be Beastmen gathered around the Magic Spring there.
There will be a Ulfr with black fur surrounded by a purple aura. That is the target. Attack the Ulfr until their health becomes very low. Note that it is tankier than other Black Fur Ulfrs.
Right before Elliot deals the final blow, Hildebrant will stop him and try to collect the Beastman.
Elliot realizes that Hildebrandt plans to use the Beastman with the machine he was bragging about earlier. He argues that while adventurers kill Beastmen for survival, using them in experiments is wrong.
Elliot gets mad and threatens to fight them if they truly plan to take the Beastman away. While they are all distracted, the Beastman escapes. Hildebrandt and his researchers leave, telling Elliot that he will not pay Elliot after this fiasco.
[3] Report what happened to Fausta.
Go to the 2nd floor of the Formanit Institute and talk to Fausta. She says that Hildebrandt is on a slippery slope and that she will ask Ikarus to keep an eye on him and the Institute. She decides to pay Elliot the fee he was denied.

Fausta will give Elliot the Fury Brooch as the compensation he didn't get from Hildebrandt.
